Goal of Debug the World
The goals of debug the world are the following:
- let the world know about all the problems that are there
- let creative people think together about how to solve a problem
- let people that have solutions know that there are problems for them
Who can contribute
Debug the world is open to everyone. Anonymous editing is permitted.
What belongs here
Every important problem that concerns at least a small group of people can be discussed here. For some rules have a look at the terms of use.
Content that violates the human rights are not permitted (e.g. racist problems, solutions that call for violence).
If your problem does not match this description, you can certainly find others sites that help you solve it. Here are some pointers where you could go:
- Stackoverflow - for programming related problems
- Yahoo Answers - for advice and solutions to small problems
Discussions
The discussions for problems and solutions are organized in single pages. That means that you can freely alter the content of the disucssion page (similar to the wikipedia talk pages). Please sign comments from you with your user name.
Bugs and Security Issues
If you found a bug or a security issue, please let us know about it. I take bugs as well as security very seriously and will fix the problem as fast as possible.
Privacy
Currently the only private information you enter on this site is your email address. It will not be given to any other party. It is uniquely used for restoring your password and if you desire so to receive the newsletter.
As usual, anything you do on this site is logged with your IP address, and if you are logged in with your user. If you don't like this, consider using the Tor network.
Who is behind Debug the World
The person behind Debug the World is Stefan Aeschbacher from Switzerland. Have a look at the debug the world blog for my opinions and possibilities to comment.
Development
Debug the World is developed using python and the pylons and many more useful libraries.
The currently active release is V0.1.2. It was released on 13.10.2010. V0.1.3 will be released when necessary to fix bugs, V0.2 will be released to bring new features (e.g. Search).
