Paper receipts waste ressources

According to Software Advice 9 billion trees are used to produce paper receipts. As many of you know, lots of them are thrown away immediately after they are printed.

The paper used for the receipts is immediately thrown away. The trees needed to fabricate them as well as the energy used for this process is wasted. Furthermore many of the paper receipts are printed on thermal paper which contains for example Bisphenol A that can lead to negative health effects.
